Buyer Signature and Date
This document is not an official state form. It records the sale and does not replace the title, the odometer disclosure on the title or any form that the state requires.

Georgia Rules. As stated by the Georgia Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division.

Official Form
The Motor Vehicle Division publishes the Bill of Sale, Form T-7 (revised September 2022). Any correction or alteration voids the form.
Purpose
The form provides evidence that a transaction has taken place between the purchaser and the seller, and that the seller has declared the odometer reading and the buyer has acknowledged it.
When a Bill of Sale Is Listed
For a casual sale, the Department lists the original title, assigned to the buyer and signed by the buyer and the seller, as the proof of ownership. It lists a bill of sale when the vehicle is a 1985 or older model year that does not require a title.
Odometer Disclosure
Federal regulations require the seller to disclose, and the buyer to acknowledge, the odometer reading on the transfer of a vehicle that is not exempt. Vehicles that are twenty model years old or older are exempt, and the seller may enter the word “exempt” in the space for the reading.
Where to Submit
The form is submitted with the required documents and the applicable tax to the county tag office in the county where the primary purchaser resides.
Certificate of Title
A Georgia certificate of title is required for a 1986 or newer model year motor vehicle, motorcycle, camper, travel trailer, or car or tow dolly weighing 2,001 pounds or more, and for a 1963 or newer model year mobile home.
Deadline for the Buyer
The Department states that it is the buyer's responsibility to title and register the vehicle within 7 days of the purchase date at the county tag office.
Duties of the Seller
The seller transfers ownership by completing the assignment form on the back of the original title, and cancels the registration of the vehicle. The Department warns against signing or accepting a title that has been left blank.
Tax
For a vehicle that requires a title, the Title Ad Valorem Tax is estimated from the value of the vehicle. Trailers are not subject to it.
Liens
The seller certifies on the form that there are no liens, security interests or encumbrances on the vehicle except those listed in the lienholder section.
