Türkiye van exports reached 19,783 units in August 2026, compared with 15,607 units in August 2025. The reported increase of 27% comes from the Ford Otosan monthly Türkiye export units document.

The August result contrasts with the cumulative pace. January to August van exports totaled 189,862 units, compared with 188,770 units in the same period of 2025, a reported increase of 1%.

Mexico provides a separate light vehicle benchmark for the same month. Exports totaled 300,475 units in August 2026, an increase of 1.26%, while the January to August total of 2,251,254 units was almost unchanged from the prior year.

Data note: Türkiye figures cover August 2026 and January to August 2026. Mexico August 2026 figures are preliminary and 2025 comparators are revised, as published on September 7, 2026.

Türkiye’s August And Year-To-Date Van Export Pace

The 27% figure measures year over year change in the Van category in August. The comparison is 19,783 export units in August 2026 against 15,607 export units in August 2025. The source is the Ford Otosan monthly Türkiye production and export document.

The source describes the figures as Türkiye export units shared with the Automotive Manufacturers Association, known as AMA. The category is labeled Van in the source table. The source does not specify a customs or technical definition for Van. The figure should therefore be read as movement in the reporting category named Van, not as a confirmed customs code or vehicle specification. Any comparison with other classification systems requires caution until category definitions are aligned.

August recorded a clear monthly increase, while the eight month total showed limited change. Subtraction of the reported August totals gives a calculated difference of 4,176 units year over year. Subtraction of the reported January to August totals gives a calculated difference of 1,092 units year over year, for a reported increase of 1%. The pattern indicates that August accounted for more than the net year to date gain and therefore implies a net decline for the January to July aggregate relative to the prior year. The distinction between a single month and the cumulative total is central, as the two rates describe different time horizons and support different conclusions.

The following table summarises the reported Türkiye van export units.

Review of both the monthly and cumulative horizons provides a fuller view than the August rate alone. A single month of elevated exports does not by itself establish a revised annual trend.

Mexico’s August Light-Vehicle Benchmark

Mexico exported 300,475 light vehicles in August 2026, compared with 296,734 in August 2025. The increase was 3,741 vehicles, or 1.26%. The data come from the INEGI Registro Administrativo de la Industria Automotriz de Vehículos Ligeros, known as RAIAVL.

The January to August total was 2,251,254 vehicles in 2026, compared with 2,252,516 vehicles in 2025. The decline was 1,262 vehicles, or 0.06%. The year to date total was therefore nearly flat year over year.

INEGI published the August 2026 RAIAVL report on September 7, 2026. Figures for 2026 are preliminary and comparators for 2025 are revised. RAIAVL reports new vehicle units and covers automobiles and light trucks in Mexico.

For market monitoring, the Mexico series provides context on export volume stability in a separate production base. The August increase was modest, and the eight month result confirms continuity with the prior year. The benchmark does not explain Türkiye van performance, but it places the 27% monthly movement in Türkiye against a comparatively stable external reference.

Why The Two Markets Are Not A Like-For-Like Comparison

The Türkiye and Mexico figures cover different vehicle categories and reporting systems. The Türkiye series reports the Van category as labeled by Ford Otosan in a document shared with AMA. No detailed technical definition is provided in that source.

The Mexico series reports light vehicles under RAIAVL methodology. That system covers automobiles and light trucks and reports new vehicle units. The scope and category structure differ from the Türkiye van export units table.

An additional classification distinction concerns OSD terminology. OSD labels a separate export table category as Kamyonet / Pick Up. That label should not be assumed interchangeable with the Van category used by Ford Otosan. Direct conversion between the labels without a published mapping would be unreliable.

For comparative analysis, the two datasets are best treated as parallel indicators rather than equivalent segments. Türkiye data describe van export unit movement. Mexico data describe broader light vehicle export movement. Each series is internally consistent for year over year comparison, but cross market conclusions about segment share or relative growth require matched definitions that are not present in the cited sources.
